We're proposing on28th/29th June 2008 a UK show based on a similar format to the highly acclaimed Hessisch Oldendorf International VW-Veteranen Treffen
For the ideal show location we have chosen Lavenham, in the heart of rural Suffolk. Lavenham is regarded as being the finest surviving example in England of a mediaeval town, with superb ancient buildings - over 300 of them listed as being of architectural and historical interest.
We have been kindly granted permission by Lavenham Parish Council, to use the large market square as the picturesque setting for this show. Surrounded by many timbered buildings including the famous Guild Hall, this is perfect for such a display and offers a unique opportunity for a new style of vintage VW gathering, which has never been seen before in England. As this will be the first show in Lavenham, we have created the illustration above as a guide to how it could look.
This show will be exclusively for pre August 1967, unmodified Volkswagen models of all types.
Period accessories will be welcome but strictly NO lowered suspension, alloy wheels or other obvious modifications.
Participants will be required to pre-register their vehicles via our website, or by post, prior to the show and a photograph of each vehicle must be included to confirm that the vehicle fits the criteria of the show.
